Open Mat Training
Mat Rules:
Train hard, take care of your teammates. Check out the Mat Rules to see how we roll.
Open Mat Training (Gi or No Gi):
Open Mat is unstructured training time where you can practice, drill, or spar at your own pace.
There’s no formal instruction—this is your time to work on what you need. You can revisit techniques from class, ask training partners to drill specific positions, or get live rounds in. It’s a great way to build experience, improve timing, and gain confidence through repetition.
Open Mat is open to all levels, including beginners. If you’re new, you’re welcome to go at your own pace—drill, ask questions, or do light positional training. More experienced students will often be available to help or roll.
This is a flexible session—train in the gi or no gi, and if you prefer, you can also use the time to hit the bags and get some extra conditioning work in.
This is ideal if you want to:
-
Get extra mat time outside of class
-
Practice techniques and build consistency
-
Improve live sparring (rolling) experience
-
Train in a relaxed, flexible environment
There’s no pressure and no structure—just show up, train, and get better.
